Today marks the 68th anniversary of Workington’s historic FA Cup 3rd Round tie v. Matt Busby’s Manchester United team at Borough Park.


Review of the Year
It might be rather dramatic to describe 2025 as ‘annus horribilis’ but it has certainly been a year we will all be keen to forget. It has been a difficult twelve months for the club – on the pitch, at least.


East meets west
Saturday’s journey to North East Lincolnshire proved to be Reds’ longest trip of the season and took us to an area of the country we haven’t visited since playing at Grimsby Town’s Blundell Park back in 1971.

Les laid to rest
Family, friends and notable members of the football fraternity turned out in force to say a fond farewell to the former Workington manager.


TV cameo for Hayden
He played against us in August, has since made a dozen NPL appearances in Workington colours and now Hayden Atkinson can reflect on his senior debut for Carlisle United, making a twenty-minute cameo in Sunday’s FA Cup tie v. Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

CLUB NEWS: Bizarre end to AGM
A sparsely attended shareholders meeting heard a positive report from the hierarchy, with Workington Association Football Club Limited making good progress on and off the field. Chairman Phil Norman informed the meeting that the financial situation was as good as it has been for some considerable time, the community links with West Cumbria had never been stronger, attendances continued to grow as did our marketing and media presence, the first team had attained it’s highest p


Les O’Neill (1943 – 2025)
It is with sadness that we report the passing of former Workington manager, Les O’Neill. He died earlier this week at the age of 81.
