The NPL Premier Division table doesn’t make good reading for supporters of Morpeth Town and Workington but who will it appeal to more on Saturday evening after the fifth league encounter between the two strugglers?
Both are anchored at the foot of the table with just one win apiece.

Saturday’s clash at Craik Park is Reds’ first game since Darren Edmondson’s departure and there is an ironic twist facing caretaker managers, Brian Dawson and Billy Redden. In the corresponding fixture on Easter Monday, the duo were then in charge of team affairs after Mark Fell had left the club.
On that occasion, Reds lost 1-0 and they have yet to get the better of Morpeth in the four league meetings so far. They have lost both matches in Northumberland and drew the two games at Borough Park.
The only time Reds celebrated a win was in a FA Trophy clash last season.
Morpeth have enjoyed a better season, overall, than Reds and are still in the FA Trophy and also got through a couple of rounds in the FA Cup.
Last season they finished a commendable 8th in the division, ten points ahead of Workington. Craig Lynch has a talented squad at his disposal which includes the much-travelled JJ Hooper who played a few games for Reds earlier in his career.
Reds still have injuries and a suspension to contend with but travel with a strong squad.
