Four players, who performed consistently well in a consistently good team, picked up the individual honours when the Reds’ Youth team celebrated last season’s achievements.

The JPL West Division champions voted TJ Cueto as their Players’ Player of the Year, Harrison Telford picked up the coaches’ Player of the Year trophy, whilst the players’ parents nominated Harrison Rogers as their Player of the Year.

Cueto was the only outfield player to start every league and cup game and also made his first team debut in the Cumberland Cup.  Goalkeeper Joe Rumney was the other ever-present.

Telford missed only one game throughout the season and the skipper also represented the first team in the County Cup competition.

Rogers was a regular performer throughout the campaign and chipped in with a few goals.

McDonough had a fine season in front of goal, despite missing several games when he was on first team duty.  He netted eleven goals in total but had already scored five in the FA Youth Cup, before the JPL campaign got under way.

The Reds U18s put together an impressive nine-match winning sequence on their way to the title and only dropped points in the final two matches.

They were also unbeaten over two matches in the national finals at Warwick in early May.

Under the guidance of Conor Cooke and Gary Jackson, the team also played three matches in the FA Youth Cup – knocking out Penrith and Spennymoor Town before losing to Hartlepool United.
