We’re delighted to welcome Matty Douglas back to Workington AFC on a two-year deal.

Matty returns to the Reds for a second spell following his time in Scotland with Annan Athletic and Queen of the South, where he finished last season as club captain.

A commanding defender, proven leader and a player who already understands the standards and expectations of this football club, Matty brings experience, quality and character in abundance.

Securing a player of Matty’s calibre is a significant boost ahead of the new season, but his decision to commit to the club for the next two years makes this an even bigger moment. His return is a real statement of intent and a clear sign of the ambition and direction of the football club.
