Young Reds record huge win

What could be the bulk of this season’s U23 squad made a first visit to Dalton United’s impressive Railway Meadow ground only to be involved in a one-sided mis-match.

They emerged 17-1 winners, in a game that will benefit neither side.

Rampant Reds scored ten goals in the first half with United netting their goal through Jaden Faragher when they were eight down.

Four players shared the bulk of the goals with Jake Henney (5), Keenan Mackay (4), Callum High (3) and Zach Benson-Lester (3) practising their finishing skills in a hollow victory.  Ben Whitworth and an own-goal completed the tally.

Before kick-off, a minute of silence was observed in memory of Pete Burns, a Dalton stalwart who passed away recently.
