Reds away in Cumberland Cup

The semi final draw for the Cumberland Cup has presented Reds with an away tie at Westmorland League outfit, Kirkoswald.

Holders, Carlisle City, will host Penrith in the other last four tie.

Reds last met Kirkoswald during the 2015-16 competition at The Old Showfield ground where they emerged 7-1 winners.  Prior to that, there was a Borough Park encounter during the ’85-86 campaign when Reds progressed after a 5-0 victory.

This season, Kirkoswald knocked out Silloth (7-1) and Fellside United (3-0) before causing an upset by disposing of Carlisle United (2-1) at Frenchfield.

Workington have enjoyed a comfortable route to the semi-final stage following home wins over Whitehaven (8-1) and Unisun Athletic (3-0).
