MATCH REPORT: Sunshine Coast U18 1-2 Workington FC U18

There was an unusual JPL fixture for the young Reds when they took on an Australian side based in Shropshire.

And because of the distance between the clubs, the match was played half-way at a venue in Bolton.

Reds got off to a cracking start and were ahead after thirty seconds thanks to Ted Thomson’s first goal for the club. It stayed that way until midway through the second half when the Aussies equalised.

But Reds secured their first away win and the points when the in-form Alfie McDonough netted the decider via another superb free-kick, his ninth goal of the season!
