Another test of character for Billy Barr’s depleted squad with league action resuming in the Huddersfield area on Tuesday evening.

After a fortnight away because of Cup and Trophy commitments, Reds renew acquaintances with Emley in what will be the tenth NPL Premier Division fixture of the season for both clubs.

Emley got promoted via the play-offs last season, overcoming Bradford Park Avenue after a penalty shoot-out, and are currently settling into life in the top flight.  They are managed by Richard Tracey who was a team mate of Billy’s back at Carlisle over two decades ago.

They will be keen to get back into action after suffering heavy defeats in both Cup and Trophy in their last two outings.

Reds will be hoping for one or two players to return after going into Saturday’s Trophy tie with a threadbare squad, with the manager hopeful of adding one new face to the squad.  

Failing that, it will be a similar squad to what turned out against Blyth Spartans.

• Meanwhile, Reds will host current Premier Division leaders, Cleethorpes Town, in the next round of the FA Trophy, with the First Round proper tie scheduled for 24 October.  That means two visits to the Fibrus for Cleethorpes in three weeks, following Saturday’s league encounter.
