MATCH PREVIEW: Away tie for the winners
The winners of Tuesday’s re-scheduled FA Trophy First Round tie will travel to league rivals, Ashton United, next month.
Monday’s draw gave Ashton United home advantage against Cleethorpes Town or Reds, in a tie to be played on 14th November. Ashton made progress after a 1-0 victory over Redcar Athletic at Hurst Cross.
With an improving weather forecast, club officials are optimistic the game will go ahead at the second attempt (7.45pm).
The tie will be settled on the night, going straight to a penalty shoot-out if the scores are level after ninety minutes.
Billy Barr will go with the same squad he named on Saturday although there could be one more returnee available.
Should we record a first ever win against Cleethorpes, we will travel to Ashton United on the 14 November, but if we go out of the competition then our destination on that day will be to Hyde United for the scheduled Premier Division encounter.
