Workington will launch the 2025-26 season with a home game against Whitby Town and bookend the campaign, again on home soil but probably at Derwent Park, by hosting Leek Town on the final Saturday in April.
Whitby Town will travel east to west for the Premier Division opener on 9th August with away games at Stockton Town and Hednesford Town Reds’ first road trips.
They will make their shortest journey (86 miles) to Lancaster City on the August Bank Holiday Monday.
But, their longest trip of the season, has been scheduled for Boxing Day – at newcomers Cleethorpes Town!
The reverse fixtures against Lancaster and Cleethorpes will be played on New Year’s Day and Easter Monday respectively.
Apart from the first away game at Stockton Town, Reds will also travel to the north east on a Tuesday for the game at Hebburn Town.
Darren Edmondson’s side will make two trips to Warrington during April, visiting Rylands on the 4th and Town a fortnight later.
The longest trips this season will be to Cleethorpes Town (207), Ilkeston Town (206) and Rushall Olympic (202) with Hednesford Town and Gainsborough Trinity also in the ‘four hours plus’ journey bracket.
Reds will travel 2,951 miles to their twenty away games.
Workington have started with a home game on six occasions in the last decade, winning four of those, drawing once and losing once.
The last time they faced Whitby Town on the opening Saturday was back in 1997 with Reds emerging 3-2 winners in North Yorkshire. Whisper it quietly, though, the 97-98 season finished in relegation!
The FA Cup campaign will begin on 30 August at the First Qualifying Round stage with Trophy interest getting underway over the first weekend in October.
