It was a privilege to catch-up with our former goalkeeper, Mike Rogan, at the weekend, if only to reminisce about his illustrious career which stretched over eleven seasons between 1966 and 1977.
During that time, Mike made 424 competitive appearances for the Reds keeping 119 clean sheets in the process.
He made 390 appearances in the Football League and only Bobby Brown (419) registered more League outings for the club.

Attending Saturday’s encounter v. Warrington Town at Borough Park, Mike was introduced to Reds’ trio of goalkeepers, Alex Mitchell, Danny Eccles and coach, Billy Redden, before enjoying the entertaining 1-1 draw.
Following Reds’ demotion from the Football League in 1977, Mike moved to Stockport County and extended his career by another three seasons, going beyond the ‘500 appearances mark’ in the professional game.
Mike (pictured, second left) still follows the fortunes of his hometown club, Fleetwood Town, as well as watching games at Barrow and Workington on a regular basis.
