Since Nineteen Thirty-Seven,
it has been a Workington landmark.
Now the final whistle is ready to be blown on Borough Park.
If the home of Workington Reds could talk,
there would be many stories
guaranteed to instantly trigger
countless fond memories.
From the Busby Babes in 58
and the first promotion in 64
to the League title in 99,
Play-Off victories and more.
Bobby Brown, John Ogilvie, Tony Geldmentis,
Kyle May, Scott Allison, Dan Wordsworth.
These and many more Reds Legends
have graced the Borough Park turf.
Bill Shankly, Ken Furphy, Joe Wojciechowicz,
Peter Hampton, Tommy Cassidy, Danny Grainger.
The Reds dugout has been occupied
by many a brilliant manager.
Come rain or shine, snow or wind,
the Reds faithful have always been there
not only through the glory times
but also through pain and despair.
And though there will be many tears as
the past is remembered fondly,
it is also time to look forward
and the next stage of Reds' proud journey.
Borough Park - for 89 years,
you have served
the Reds with pride and distinction.
Goodbye and Thank you so much, for being
the home of football in Workington.
