Workington AFC can confirm that Matty Tymon has announced his retirement from football following his second spell with the Reds.

Matty has been a fantastic servant to the club across both spells, bringing experience, professionalism and quality every time he pulled on the shirt. Everyone at the club would like to thank him for his contribution and wish him all the very best in his retirement.

We can also confirm that Steven Swinglehurst and Harry McLinden will be departing the club this summer.

Steven has been a huge presence over the past two seasons, playing a key role both on and off the pitch, and his commitment to the Reds has been clear for all to see.

Unfortunately, things haven’t quite worked out as either Harry or the club would have hoped, but we thank him for his efforts during his time at Borough Park and wish him well for the future.

We place on record our sincere thanks to all three players for their service and wish them every success for the future.
