Round 2, Take two

Reds will make another attempt to play their Integro League Cup Second Round tie versus Mossley on Tuesday evening (7.45pm).

Last week’s heavy rain scuppered the first chance to host the game but prospects for the match going ahead at the second time of asking are good.

Mossley remained in 14th position in BetVictor North West after Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Marske whilst a strong finish from Reds kept them at the top of the tree.

But league form will count for nothing in a cup tie that will be settled on the night. If the scores are level after ninety minutes the game will go straight to penalties.

And that could be a strange experience for Reds who haven’t been awarded a spot-kick all season.

Such has been the disruption to the Integro Cup this season, a mixture of first and second round matches will be played on Tuesday.
