Return visit for Dumbarton

Reds are able to announce the first home match of pre-season with Dumbarton visiting Borough Park for the second successive summer.

Twelve months ago, The Sons triumphed on their first visit to west Cumbria – recording a comfortable 3-0 victory – and they will cross the Border again for the match on Saturday 8 July (3pm). They scored three first half goals here last July to emerge deserved winners.

Dumbarton finished runners-up to Stirling Albion at the end of last season but fell to Annan Athletic in the play-offs. They won half of their thirty-six league games last season but were ten points adrift of Stirling at the finish.

Workington will kick-off pre-season with the annual charity match at Whitehaven on Thursday 6 July and will announce further friendlies in due course.

The season proper starts on 12 August.
