Brad agrees to stay

Brad Hubbold has agreed to sign for Reds for the forthcoming season and is looking forward to extending his stay with the west Cumbrians.

The ball-playing midfielder was involved in thirty seven games last term but twenty of those were via the bench and he didn’t feature at all for the last few months of what was a troubled campaign.

He has bounced back superbly and has caught the eye in pre-season impressing Reds’ management team in training and match play.

Brad will be on a busman’s holiday when he turns up at Holker Street for the friendly against Barrow. He works for their Community Sports team during the week.

Brad (and Brad Carroll) played against their hometown club at The Furness Building Society Stadium on Tuesday, scoring the goals that produced a shock result. They were representing the Furness Select team that plays against Barrow every summer.

Unfortunately, Carroll was injured in that game and will be assessed before Saturday afternoon’s 3pm kick-off.

Danny Grainger will also be without Alex Mitchell as he recovers from a training injury but, otherwise, will be able to select from a near full squad.

All at WAFC appreciate the efforts of our neighbours for managing to switch the fixture at such short notice and we apologise to our regular supporters who will be unable to attend the rescheduled game.
