Youth team goal rush – Friendly
In preparation for the forthcoming FA Youth Cup fixture at Pickering Town, the Reds Youth team played a friendly at Carlisle City and romped to an emphatic 9-0 victory.
Josh Palmer opened the scoring inside the first minute but, strangely, that was the only goal in the first half although two further attempts rebounded off the woodwork.
It took a fine Scott Paden-Gale save just before the interval to preserve Reds’ slender lead.
The flood gates opened in the second half after Palmer doubled the lead and he went on to claim a hat-trick. Thomas Downes then outshone Palmer, chipping in with a personal tally of four.
There were further goals from Zach Lester and Luke Whitehead as the young Reds enjoyed the target practice.
