Workington AFC launch Stay Home Record initiative

Today, Workington AFC have launched the ‘Stay Home Record,’ an initiative forged to help the club, football fans and the incredible National Health Service during this pandemic.

Via YouTube Live, we will be streaming a virtual replay of our iconic 1958 match against the Busby Babes of Manchester United with the aim of breaking our record attendance on Saturday, May 30.

21,500 were inside Borough Park FA Cup third round clash, just 33 days before many of the team, which included Bobby Charlton and Duncan Edwards, tragically lost their lives in the Munich Air Disaster.

The match will be an immerse experience with recreated commentary, analysis, quotes from legends involved in the day and much more.

Tickets are priced at £2 on our Eventbrite page and 25% of the total profit raised will go towards National Health Service charities as they battle on the front line against Covid-19.

Our goal is to sell over 21,500 tickets and allow football fans across the world to live the matchday experience while the sport takes a break due to current circumstances.

Purchasing a ticket will be supporting us and our NHS that constantly supports us.

Get involved by using the hashtag #StayHomeRecord on social media and watch out for some surprises in the build up to the big day.

See you at home!
