Which Dennis will win?

Will we be raising a glass to groundsman Dennis on Saturday evening or cursing the impact of Storm Dennis?

At various stages this week, the Borough Park pitch has been playable, unplayable, playable, unplayable and playable. And whilst one Dennis has done his utmost to get Reds’ NPL North West fixture v. Mossley on, the weather will have the final say, no doubt.

The pitch, ironically, was playable on Tuesday when the Ossett United cup tie was called off with the League making the decision to cancel because of travel concerns.

It will be Mossley’s second visit of the season having travelled here for the Integro League Cup encounter two months ago. Reds emerged 2-0 winners on that occasion but Mossley won the first league match at Seel Park, by the same score, back in September.

The third meeting is important to both clubs with Reds looking to consolidate a play-off berth and Mossley hoping to register the first away win of the season. Their home form has been excellent but a lack of success on the road has prevented them obtaining a place in the top six.

Reds have obtained 53 points from 25 matches whilst ninth placed Mossley are currently on 35 points but have played 27 games to date.

All being well, it will be a 3pm kick-off.
