Thermals at the ready

Get yourself well clothed tonight and head down to Borough Park for the second instalment of Reds v. Ossett United (7.45pm).

Having completed a league double over Wayne Benn’s side on Saturday, Danny Grainger will tweak the starting XI for the Integro League Cup quarter final tie and will be hoping the strong winds of the last three days abate slightly.

It was tough going for both teams in the league encounter as the weather dictated the pattern of the game. But the strong wind has probably given tonight’s cup tie every chance of going ahead as planned.

The pitch was flooded on Sunday morning, clear of all surface water later that day and certainly playable on Monday afternoon/evening.

Each club must field a side, including substitutes, consisting of at least eight established first team players.

Ossett have yet to concede a goal in this season’s competition, keeping clean sheets in their First Round win at Pontefract Collieries (2-0) and again in the Second Round home tie v. Brighouse Town (3-0).

Reds’ interest started with a 6-1 derby win over Kendal Town with Mossley despatched (2-0) in the last round.
