The story behind the picture – Noel Edmonds visit to Borough Park

Borough Park has often doubled as a landing pad for helicopters with half a dozen at least using the centre circle as a marker when visiting the town by air.

Celebrities, including Noel Edmonds and David Bellamy, and even Royalty, have arrived in the town for personal appearances and visits, via the Borough Park turf.  

The photograph was taken forty years ago when Noel Edmonds, a registered helicopter pilot, landed his craft ahead of supermarket opening duties in the town.
