The story behind the picture – Former players framed
Nearly fifty years after turning out for Reds in a match against Southport, Peter Foley (left) and the late Bobby Brown (right) are pictured receiving a framed photograph of the Workington team on duty that day from secretary, Alec Graham.
Both Peter and Bobby, until his passing last year, were regular spectators are Borough Park – the oldest surviving players who attended games on a regular basis.
Alec thought it fitting that the two sixties heroes should be recognised for their continued support and presented them with a framed photograph of the team which secured a League Cup victory back in 1966.
