The story behind the picture – Carlisle blue to Workington red

Danny Grainger became another addition to the long list of players/managers who have served both Carlisle United and Workington at various stages of their respective careers.

After five distinguished seasons at Brunton Park he switched allegiance twelve months ago and made a seamless transition from player to manager.

Danny had made an annual appearance for the Blues at Borough Park in the summer pre-season games, finishing on the winning side on each occasion.
