The story behind the picture – Appearance milestone recognised

The above photograph, showing two fine Reds servants receiving mementos from two fine Reds servants, was taken early in the 2011-12 season.

David Hewson (second left) and Anthony Wright both passed the 200 appearance marker for Workington within a few weeks of each other and, to mark the achievement, were presented with an engraved piece of glassware as a token of appreciation from the club.

Former Chairman, Humphrey Dobie, and long serving player, the late Bobby Brown, made the presentation pitch side.

Both players spent over a decade with the club.
