The final countdown

Reds will host the first of ten remaining league fixtures on Saturday with play-off hopefuls, Brighouse Town, making their first ever visit to Borough Park.

This fixture was originally scheduled for late November but was postponed on the morning of the game because of frost.

After what seems the driest week for some considerable time, it will be no great shock for the rains to return on match-day. Hopefully, that won’t deter supporters too much as the average attendance recently dipped below the 500 mark for home league matches.

Danny Grainger may have a few selection posers ahead of the 1st v. 7th encounter after a much changed midweek line-up impressed in the League Cup win over Ossett United.

In-form Town have been inconsistent for much of the season but arrive in west Cumbria on the back of three successive wins including a 1-0 success at Pontefract Collieries.

The Tony Hopper bar will be open long before the 3pm kick-off and coverage of the game will be via Paul Armstrong’s Live Scoreboard service or BBC Radio Cumbria who will provide interviews, pre and post match, and regular updates.
