SIGNING: Liam added to squad

After spending pre-season with the club and featuring in a handful of the matches so far, Liam Lightfoot has registered as a non-contract player.

Previously with Carlisle United, Liam got his first taste of senior football whilst on loan at Kendal Town last season and featured in the goalless draw against Reds at Parkside Road last September.

He has spent the summer training with Reds and made his debut, as a substitute, in the game at Berwick Rangers.  Liam, who can operate in midfield or defence, then started both games against EFL opposition – Morecambe and former club Carlisle United – and also featured in the matches at Consett and Carlisle City.

Based at Abbeytown, Liam links up with younger brother Carl who plays for the Development Squad but has already appeared for the first team.
