SECOND LOCKDOWN: Update for Reds supporters
Good evening, Reds.
Workington AFC have today put in place procedures which will enable fans to remain in contact with the club during this upcoming lockdown period, starting at midnight.
The Board of Directors were today joined by first-team manager Danny Grainger, meeting to discuss all aspects of the club’s activities during this period, from our players’ fitness through to essential ground maintenance with safety as our priority.
Director Dave Bowden explained: “One of our key thoughts was to ensure that communication with our supporters was maintained in some form.
“With that in mind we have set up the following procedures.
“Anyone wishing to contact the club can either do so by email: commercial@workingtonafc.com or by telephone ‘01900 602871.’
“Our club shop and office at Borough Park will not be open – in line with government guidelines – but anyone who wishes to purchase our popular centenary shirt, or other merchandise, can do so via our online shop at https://www.workingtonafc.com/shop/
“Alternatively, you can contact us with your name, phone number and requirement and we will ring back, within two to three days, to ensure you receive the goods quickly and safely.
“We have enjoyed the interaction with all our fans at the club office since the implementation of our new ticketing process, and we hope that these procedures will ensure we can maintain contact and satisfy any demand for club merchandise etc.
“We hope that all our fans, and their families stay safe during the next few weeks, and we look forward to resuming our challenge for promotion when the season eventually re-starts.
“In the meantime, we will be working on some exciting initiatives which we hope we can launch in time for Christmas – so watch this space!”
Yesterday, the Football Association confirmed that grassroots football will be suspended until December 2, following today’s vote in Parliament, which you can read here.
