Sam agrees to sign

Sam Smith, 26 today, has agreed to put pen to paper and will start his seventh campaign of first-team football in August.

The talented defender first played for the Reserves during the 2009-10 season and eventually made a century of appearances in the Lancashire League. He has since made 159 outings for the first team plus, a further 69 on the bench.

Workington based Sam is the fifth player from last season’s squad to commit for next term with Nathan Waterston also agreeing a return to Borough Park.
