SAD NEWS

The club was saddened to learn of the passing of Jackie Cunningham who passed away last Saturday. He was 83.

Workington born Jackie, a Northside resident, was the club’s physiotherapist in the 1976-77 season. He subsequently worked for Doncaster Rovers and Bury before enjoying a long association with Blackburn Rovers whom he left in1991.

Jackie returned to west Cumbria and served Reds, and Workington Town, during the nineties. During the troubled ’97-98 campaign, Jackie was in charge of team affairs as caretaker manager for a couple of months.

We send our condolences to his immediate family – Chris, Eddie, Tony and grandchildren Oliver and Ava who live in the Blackburn area.
