Return to Borough Park
Borough Park staged its first semblance of football for four and half months on Saturday as the initial stages of competitive training were implemented to the squad’s pre-season programme.
An in-house bounce match was arranged with an 11 v. 11 contest taking place on the pristine pitch with Team Yellow taking on Team Blue.
And both of Danny Grainger’s new recruits, Reuben Jerome and Louis Potts, wasted little time locating the goal nets as both found the target in Team Blue’s 4-1 victory.
Twenty five players were given a briefing from the manager beforehand and then held a team bonding session after some welcome food and refreshment.
The manager said afterwards that he was, “Delighted with the attitude, application and quality displayed by the players.”
- The Development Squad will stage their own 11 v. 11 game next week and stepped up their preparation with some five-a-side matches on the astro surface at Copeland Stadium.
