Reds Ladies cup exit: Hartlepool United Women 7-2 Workington Reds Ladies
Reds Ladies made their exit from The Vitality Women’s FA Cup at Peterlee after conceding six second half goals against a more experienced Hartlepool United side.
They were well in contention throughout an even first half and went in front thanks to a Paige Johnstone goal. Hartlepool responded quickly and equalised soon after through Atalia Robinson to make it all square at the break.
Reds found themselves up against it in the second period and Pools netted six times through Ellie Gutcher, Justine Robinson, Lucy Staines, Robyn Foster and Alisha Smith (2).

To their credit, he girls kept battling away and netted a deserved consolation just before the end when Sydney Bragg scored her first goal for the club.
Jess Reid led by example and was voted Reds’ player-of-the-match. They return to league action next week, travelling to play Chorley Women.
