Reds and Greens aim to stop rot

Whilst Reds will be attempting to end a losing run at home North Ferriby United, in their first visit to west Cumbria for five years, will see this as an ideal opportunity to pick up points on the road.

They haven’t won in five previous visits to Borough Park but will be aware of how fragile Reds have become on their own patch.

After winning at the Chadwick Stadium last month, Lee Andrews’ side will have the opportunity of completing a first league double of the campaign but go into the game with one or two fitness doubts and will be without Niall Cowperthwaite. There could be the unexpected bonus of seeing Scott Allison back in the squad, however.

The Evo-Stik Premier Division league table doesn’t make very pleasant reading for Reds or The Villagers with the bottom two suffering 46 league defeats between them this season.

Both clubs have actually amassed more points in away games than they have at home. In Workington’s case, they have obtained fifteen points on the road compared to fourteen at Borough Park whilst Ferriby have gained just four at home and six (one win, three draws) on their travels.
