One eye on the weather
Reds hope to return to FA Trophy action on Saturday but will be keeping one eye on the weather in west Yorkshire.
They are due to meet Brighouse Town in the FA Trophy at the Yorkshire Payments Stadium but the First Round Qualifying tie will be subject to a pitch inspection on the morning of the game.
Should the match be postponed, a second attempt to play the match will be made on Monday.
Danny Grainger is hoping the heavy rain will relent as the squad, after two excellent training sessions, are raring to go after last week’s unforeseen cancellation of the Runcorn Linnets fixture.
Brad Carroll is the only major doubt (hip injury) but, other than that, the manager has a near full squad to choose from.
Brighouse and Reds, league rivals this season, have never previously met (in league or cup) so will be a bit of an unknown quantity to each other. Town are currently 13th in the North West Division but finished 3rd last term and just missed out on promotion.
