The recent home game against Macclesfield was a special occasion for manager Danny Grainger.
It was his 100th League game as Workington manager and the match, which extended the sequence of draws to a record breaking six, maintained his impressive record whilst in the Borough Park hot seat.
His first league game in charge was on the opening day of the 2019-20 season when Reds recorded a 4-1 success over Pickering Town. Since then, the manager has overseen a further fifty-six victories and his first century of league matches produced the following record:
P. 100 W. 57 D. 22 L. 21 F. 209 A. 121 Points 193
It was his 130th competitive game overall with seventy-eight victories recorded in his two spells at the club.
By a remarkable coincidence, Danny’s 101st game also resulted in a 4-1 league win with Dav Symington scoring against Pickering Town then, four years later, Ilkeston Town.
