Midweek action
After two home postponements last week, Reds will be hoping the weather is kinder on Tuesday as they head to Manchester for NPL North West action against Droylsden (7.45pm).
Although the sides have already met twice this term, in the Preliminary Round of the FA Trophy, this will be the first league encounter to date. The return meeting will be at Borough Park on the final day of the season.
Back in October, Reds drew 1-1at the Butcher’s Arms before winning the replay 3-1in West Cumbria.
Since then, Droylsden have struggled to make an impact in the league and had a 7-0 home defeat inflicted upon them by Marine recently.
They are currently 16th in the table having obtained 27 points from their seven wins and six draws.
There was no change at the top of the division at the weekend, with all the key fixtures postponed, so Workington remain in 2nd position.
On the basis of Droylsden responding positively to that heavy reverse, Reds will be in for a tough ninety minutes on a ground where they have often struggled to win. In twelve previous visits, they have never tasted victory in a NPL fixture there with the three successes obtained all under the Conference North banner.
Danny Grainger has a near full squad available for the trip as they return to action after the enforced ten day break.
