MEDIA RELEASE from Workington AFC
Following the recent guidance issued by the FA allowing the return of spectators Workington AFC have released arrangements for spectators attending the next two friendly games to take place at Borough Park.
Both games against Cleator Moor Celtic on Tuesday 1st September (7 30 KO) and Lancaster City on Saturday 5th September (3:00 pm KO) will be ALL TICKET and subject to the club strictly adhering to the guidance provided.
This means that a maximum of only 200 spectators are allowed for the Cleator Moor game and a maximum of 400 for the game against Lancaster City.
Tickets priced at £5 each (no concessions), £2 for under 15’s, for the Cleator Moor game and the Lancaster City game will be on sale, on a first come first served basis, at the club office on Saturday 29th August and Monday 31st August (Bank Holiday) from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, and every other day from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm
Director Phil Norman, the club’s COVID officer, explained that in the first instance the use of tickets will ensure we do not exceed the capacity guidelines. After such a long break, it is expected demand will be high, so it is strongly advised that fans purchase a ticket as once they are sold we will unfortunately be unable to admit anyone else. Season Ticket holders will have priority.
Fans will notice changes with respect to social distancing. Risk assessments have been produced and published with the following key changes to a normal match day
- Fans must adhere to social distancing at all times.
- The enclosure turnstiles will be closed and entry into the ground will be from the Town end turnstiles only.
- Numbers in the Tony Hopper Bar are strictly limited and no standing will be allowed.
- Catering facilities when available will not be in the Tony Hopper Bar but be located between the Town End of the ground and the enclosure
We would ask fans to bear with us while we test these necessary restrictions imposed upon us. There is no doubt that these restrictions will affect the club commercially, and we apologise in advance if any fans are unable to get a ticket, but the safety of our fans is our number one priority. We want all spectators to enjoy watching an exciting Reds team in a safe environment
