Recap
The goals continue to flow for Reds youngsters as they recorded their most emphatic Cumberland County League win so far.
But it took them a while to get going and it was scrappy in the early stages of the game and, if anything, Mirehouse looked the more dangerous in attack.
Once Matty Foster opened the scoring after twenty minutes, Reds appeared more settled and their play improved throughout.
Further goals followed with Louis Webster, Tom Skinner and Tom Houghton all finding the target to establish a four-goal advantage at the break.
The second half was much better in terms of performance and tempo with Reds gaining overall control. Both fullbacks, Aidan Howarth and Matty Hartley, were seeing plenty of the ball in the final third and this was causing Mirehouse problems defensively.
Five more goals were scored with man-of-the-match Foster (pictured) going on to complete his hat-trick, Webster bagging his second and Dan Whitehead netting twice, one of which was via a sublime free-kick.
Team manager Brian Dawson said, “It was a fantastic all-round team performance, capped by our first clean sheet, and continued our unbeaten start to the season.”
