Recap
Six of Reds starting XI had played ninety minutes in the FA Youth Cup tie on Thursday evening and, coupled with the fact that four regulars were absent, ensured this was always going to be a difficult County League match against a good Maryport side. And so it proved.
Fatigue probably accounted for a rather sluggish performance in the first half and, with limited opportunities for both sides, it was no great surprise that a stalemate situation was the verdict at the interval.

Reds tweaked the formation at half time and enjoyed good spells of possession in a dominant period.
And from a well executed corner they took the lead when Taylor Hambling (inset) scored his first goal since returning to the club.
Unfortunately, they couldn’t build on that slender advantage and Maryport finished the stronger eventually salvaging a point when former Red, Cam Harker, netted a well taken equaliser.
