Recap
Inconsistent Reds bounced back with an important County League win, overcoming Aspatria by the odd goal in five.
Having underperformed in the mud at Cockermouth the previous week, Reds looked more at home on the college 3G but it wasn’t all straightforward over the ninety minutes.
They had opened the scoring just after the half hour mark when Josh Palmer was released by Dan Whitehead and the top scorer finished confidently to open the scoring.
Palmer then turned provider for the second goal just before the interval, his assist putting Jack Brown through to double the advantage.
Aspatria responded well early in the second half and reduced the arrears ten minutes after the restart thanks to a Harry Creighton goal.
It was all square after seventy-five minutes when Richard Hudson netted Aspatria’s equaliser. When Palmer was sin-binned shortly after, for dissent, it looked as though the visitors had gained the upper hand.
But Reds fashioned a late winner with Brown (inset) netting his second after being released by Lewis Moore.

Team: Scott Paden-Gale (Aaron Lister), Hayden Percival, Scott Williamson (Owen Birkett), Zach Martin, Dan Whitehead, Cain Pears (Louis Webster), Evan Stephenson (Luke Whitehead), Zach Lester, Jack Brown (Robbie Wilson), Josh Palmer, Lewis Moore.
