The young Reds have found league points difficult to come by this season with the majority of their victories coming in the various cup competitions.
Celtic’s second string bagged the three points, leaving the green and white hoops challenging at the right end of the County League table with Reds floundering and left to contemplate the threat of relegation.
The hosts established a two-goal lead by the interval thanks to goals form Ryan Hall and Jamie Martin to set-up a league double. They had beaten Reds back in August on the opening day of the season.
Despite enjoying plenty of possession in the second half, Workington’s only response came from Sam Christian (inset) but, try as they did, they couldn’t produce an equaliser.
They are back on cup duty next week with a home tie v. Wigton Harriers in the Benevolent Cup.
