MATCH REPORT: Workington Reds Ladies 8 Carlisle United Ladies 1
A record derby win for Reds was the outcome of this one-sided encounter after a stunning first half display produced seven goals.
The emphatic win lifted Reds to fifth in the Division One North table but winless United remain in eleventh place in the twelve team division.
Top scorer Hayley Bracken opened the scoring with just four minutes on the clock and that was the start of a deluge of goals.
Jess Reid (featured) netted twice on the quarter hour mark and completed her hat-trick just before half time.
Player of the match Hannah Geen made it 4-0 with the goal of the game and Caitlin Davis chipped in with a brace.
Reds were able to experiment in the second half and utilise their substitutes which was probably a relief for United. The Blues did grab a consolation goal but Bracken had the final say with her second, Reds eighth, of the afternoon via the penalty spot.
