MATCH REPORT: Sir Tom Finney Women 2-4 Workington Reds Ladies
Reds Ladies resumed their North West Women’s Regional League programme with another win on the road, twice coming from behind to register their eighth win of the season.
They had ended 2021 on a winning streak and started the New Year in similar fashion.

The Preston side twice held the lead with goals from Scarlett Dawson and Caitlin Walker but Reds fought back each time and eventually emerged with all three points, completing a league double in the process.

Hayley Bracken netted the first equaliser on the hour only for Sir Tom Finney to restore the lead as the game entered the final fifteen minutes.
Skipper Linzi Donaldson converted a penalty to make it all square at 2-2 which prompted an exciting finale.
Reds got their noses in front for the first time with just seven minutes to go and, like the first team, benefitted from an own-goal.
Top scorer Bracken netted her second of the afternoon just before the end to seal the victory which consolidated third position in the Division One North table.
