MATCH REPORT: Carlisle United Ladies 0-0 Workington Reds Ladies
Reds Ladies collected their first point of the new season after the Cumbrian derby finished goalless.
Paul Mackenzie’s side had lost their opening fixture but it is a learning curve for an evolving squad with a number of senior players injured at the moment. It is a new experience for several talented teenagers playing in Division One North for the first time.
It was decent game overall and a pleasing ninety minutes from a Reds perspective.

“There is still plenty to work on but I was happy with the way we played,” commented a satisfied manager.
“I think we are moving in the right direction and I know if we stay focused we will improve as a team throughout the season, without a doubt,” he concluded.
Despite the flush of youth, it was one of the senior players, Helen Wagstaff, who emerged as Reds’ ‘player of the match’ whilst Laura Miller had the satisfaction of keeping her first clean sheet of the campaign.
United are fast becoming the League’s draw specialists with all three of their games finishing all square.
