MATCH PREVIEW: The last mid-weeker
Reds will play their final Tuesday night game of the season when they head for Bootle to contest NPL West Division fixture number 28.
As things stand, there will be no more midweek travel for Reds after the trip to Vesty Road, with the last five away games scheduled Saturday afternoon fixtures.
There will be the usual problem of getting players away from work in time to travel but a near full squad is available for a sixth Tuesday away game of the season.
Bootle are one of the highest scorers in the Division with Ben Hodkinson leading the way with a personal tally of fifteen. They still have a good chance of reaching the play-offs but need to take advantage of their games in hand.
They currently sit in 9th position with forty points obtained from their twenty four matches. Remarkably, their only draw of the season was at Borough Park three months ago but, in fairness to them, Reds were probably a tad fortunate to salvage a point from that game.
Played in atrocious conditions (Storm Barra), Bootle twice took the lead and caused us problems throughout the ninety minutes. Steven Rigg had the misfortune to score an own-goal that night and he will return to the squad after missing the last two matches.
Reds have never played Bootle on their own patch before although they played City of Liverpool there two years ago.
