MATCH PREVIEW: Skem next stop

Both matches against Skelmersdale United have been played on re-arranged dates with Reds travelling to play the return fixture in Lancashire on Saturday.

And every time we play Skem it feels as though we do so on a different ground with the NPL West encounter this weekend taking place at Burscough, the fourth different venue where we have met over the years.

Two months ago, the sides clashed at Borough Park with Reds claiming the points after a narrow 2-1 victory, one of five successes by that score line this season.

Dav Symington and Reuben Jerome were on target for us with Jordan Southworth responding for ‘Skem’ in the earlier meeting.

Richard Brodie’s team have won six matches to date and are currently in fourteenth position, nine points behind Danny Grainger’s Reds who are currently third.

Grainger will select from a near full squad with just two absentees to take into account.

Burscough are playing at their Community Ground Stadium on Friday evening with Skelmersdale and Workington doing battle on the 3G surface less than eighteen hours later.

Venue: Bobby Langton Way, Burscough, L40 0SW

Kick-off: 3pm
