MATCH PREVIEW: Reds hope to give Greens the blues
Back in September, 1874 Northwich visited Borough Park for the first time and the inaugural meeting resulted in a draw with the teams sharing four goals. Reds will be hoping to obtain all three points in Saturday’s return at Barnton (3pm) as they continue the chase of NPL West leaders, Marine.

Steven Rigg and Connor Gaul netted first half goals in the previous contest but that two goal interval lead was thrown away in a disjointed performance after the break. 1874 staged a brave fight back and a penalty converted by skipper Matthew Woolley and an own-goal got them back on terms.
They just about deserved the point but were unlucky not to leave West Cumbria with all three after Aaron Smith’s last minute ‘thirty-yarder’ rattled the crossbar with Jim Atkinson beaten.
The Northwich Victoria splinter club now have 29 points to their credit, from twenty one matches played, and are currently in 10th position. Their away record is quite impressive with eighteen points obtained on the road compared to just eleven accrued on home soil.
The Greens have netted 34 league goals this term but the return of record scorer, Scott McGowan, should improve their scoring potential during the second half of the season. He has just re-signed for the club after a spell with Macclesfield
1874 currently ground share with North West Counties League club, Barnton, and it will be a first time visit for Reds to the Townfield ground.
