MATCH PREVIEW: Reds and Greens clash for first time

Although we have played Northwich Victoria several times in the past, this will be the first encounter with ‘splinter’ club 1874.

A very young club, formed less than nine years ago, 1874 is a progressive organisation founded by disenchanted supporters of their beloved NVFC and currently ground-share with Barnton, about three miles from Northwich.

They benefitted from the National League restructuring in the summer, moving up from the North West Counties at Step 5.

A solid start to the campaign leaves them with eight points from eight games and currently in 14th spot in NPL West.

Reds will be hoping to consolidate top spot in the division but will be interested in another game one hundred miles away.  Dunston and Worksop Town meet in the north east in the FA Trophy and Reds will host the winners in three weeks time.

Tickets will be on sale from the office on Saturday up to kick-off (3pm).
