MATCH PREVIEW: Let’s have six of the best
The Northern Premier League enters its ninth and final month of the season this weekend and what a few weeks it promises to be for Workington supporters, with a return to the Premier Division still in their own hands.
They have six crucial fixtures of the regular campaign remaining – three at home, three away, and, if they fail to finish in top spot, will then face possibly two games in the play-offs.
It has been a superb season so far and it will be fantastic achievement to get promoted in view of the number of long term injuries they have suffered on a regular basis since August.
Improving Colne visit Borough Park on Saturday (3pm) and they have recorded some excellent results throughout March keeping four clean sheets in the process. Indeed, the only goal they have conceded in five matches was a penalty in last week’s narrow loss to Leek Town.
Reds maintained their excellent record at the top of Harrison Drive back in November when Conor Tinnion (2) and Dave Symington netted the goals in a comfortable 3-0 victory.
Colne have changed managers since then and Jon Macken has done an excellent job reviving their fortunes since succeeding Nathan Rooney. They are still languishing in 15th position but are one of the form teams of the division over recent weeks.
They have a slightly better away record than they do at home and will arrive in west Cumbria nice and relaxed with nothing, other than pride, to play for.

It promises to be another nail-biting afternoon at Borough Park with a good crowd right behind the players once again.
