MATCH PREVIEW: Final home of 2021
Reds stop-start season springs back into action on Saturday when they host Kidsgrove Athletic in NPL West Division action at Borough Park.
The home clash against 13th placed Athletic marks the half-way point of the season as Reds go in search of a league double. We emerged narrow 1-0 winners at their place on the opening day of the season but it was a tough battle and Chris Willcock expects another testing ninety minutes in the return.
Like most match days this season, Reds will be below strength and, apart from long term absentees Louis Rowe and Scott Allison, they go into the game without three key members of the squad.
With the forecast far better than it was for the two most home games, club officials are hoping for a healthy response at the turnstiles following the low gate for the Bootle match.
That was most certainly due to Storm Barra but credit to those who did turn out on a cold, wet Tuesday evening.
There is no grass roots football this weekend and Reds host one of the few games in the area, so forget about Christmas preparations for a few hours and get to Borough Park for the final home game of the year!
Kick-off: 3pm
