MATCH PREVIEW: East Lancashire v. West Cumbria
Reds will return to league action on Saturday when they make the 135 mile journey to Colne for an NPL West Division fixture.
Having lost ground in the title race, Reds go into the game in 4th position five points behind leaders, Marine.
Colne have probably underachieved so far and are currently in 11th spot with twenty one points. They have looked better on the road with fourteen points obtained on their travels.
But it is always a tough game on ‘the top of the hill’ and that will certainly be the case this weekend.
Although we lost 6-0 at the now named Harrison Drive Stadium on our first visit back in the ’88-89 season, we have won there on our three most recent visits. Last year, we came away with a hard fought 1-0 win, thanks to a Scott Allison penalty, but the home match was never played.
Scott remains the only long-term absentee with the majority of the squad fit and ready to go.
The M65 might be slightly busier on Saturday with both Burnley and Accrington Stanley also at home but Reds fans will be out in force as usual, giving their vocal backing to the team.
